I'd built up Jaipur and Jodhpur as the main events and mentally filed Udaipur as the quieter stop between them. Which is embarrassing in retrospect. Udaipur stopped us completely. The lakes, the old city, the way everything reflects at dusk — the Rajasthan trip package almost didn't include it because of timing, and we'd have come home with a gap we didn't know we had.
