Hi, my name is Miguel. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, came of age in New York City, and served in the US Army for several years. In my free time, I volunteer as an emergency manager/instructor, conducting suicide intervention workshops and managing disasters across the USA with a veteran organization called Team Rubicon.
As a clinician and educator, I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Maryland) and a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. I hold a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am working on my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Capella University, with a concentration on the experiences of bilingual professional counselors working with Latinx adolescent.
I work with clients from diverse backgrounds, including military veterans, men's issues, crisis counseling/suicide, post-traumatic stress, psychotic spectrum disorders, depression, racial identity, anxiety, adolescents 12 and up, adults, families, couples, and Bilingual counseling (Spanish).
