What Happens During a Sonoma Wine Tour?

By platypustours, 6 October, 2026

Your Sonoma wine tour starts with pickup from most lodging properties within our regular service area and a small group of fellow wine lovers ready for a day in wine country. Groups are typically 8–12 guests, with 14 maximum, and your friendly local guide takes it from there—handling the driving, welcoming everyone aboard, and setting the tone for a relaxed day together.

You’ll visit three smaller-production, hidden-gem wineries, with selections changing daily. Long-standing relationships with local wineries help create warm welcomes and experiences that feel personal rather than touristy. Along the way, your guide shares stories, local knowledge, and wine insight, answers questions, and introduces you to the people and places that give Sonoma wine country so much character.

A tasty picnic lunch and plenty of bottled water are included. Discounted tasting fees are generally around $25 per person, per winery, and many are refundable with a bottle purchase or wine club signup. Small-group tours are $139 per person, seven days a week. Prefer a day that's entirely your own? Private tours offer a thoughtfully curated experience created around your group's interests.
